Who We Are... The Canadian Ski Patrol System has operated here on the east coast of Newfoundland since the mid 1980's.
We are a dedicated group of volunteers that enjoy the outdoors, skiing, riding and helping people in need. While many of us are alpine skiers and riders age 18 and up, not all of us 'patrol' at ski areas. We also provide first aid training to those who want to have advanced first aid training for personal or work related reasons, career & resumee building or just to have the knowledge to be able to help others.
We come from every walk of life: from high school and university students, public service workers, teachers, engineers, medical professionals, to retirees... Our volunteers also benefit not only from the knowledge they receive with first aid training, but from receiving other perks as well: some at the ski areas we patrol, exchange programs, discounts on ski equipment, outdoor accessories, insurance from our suppliers and sponsors. Of course belonging to an organization where we have lots of fun, make life long friendships and feel great about helping someone in need plays a role as well.
